Join us as Dennis Minsky reads from his book, Peculiar and Superior, reflections of a year-rounder on the human and natural history of the Outer Cape. In this collection of essays, which first appeared in his column "The Year-Rounder" in the Provincetown Independent, Minsky tells stories of the people, the place and his experience living in a small town on the coast of Massachusetts. From the mundane to the magical, he captures moments in time long enough to look at them before letting them go.
Dennis first arrived in Provincetown over 60 years ago and, since then, has worked for the Cape Cod National Seashore, the Center for Coastal Studies, the Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch, and Art's Dune Tours. He has served as chair of the Provincetown Conservation Commission and the Open Space Committee and a handful of other town committees. He has been writing the Year-Rounder column in The Provincetown Independent since its very first issue, and has also broadcast his work in The Cape Cod Notebook on WCAI. His fiction, nonfiction, and reviews have appeared in Provincetown Arts Magazine.
