SUMMARY:Meeting the Moment
DESCRIPTION:Please join us at Chapel in the Pines Tuesday\, September 15th at 5:30 p.m. as we discuss the “Bad News” but also the “Good News.” John Muggeridge will debrief us on all current and crucial political campaigns and where we may focus to foster successful elections for November\, 2026. You are invited to attend with your questions and comments. Light refreshments will be served. \nJohn is a retired Government Affairs/Public Affairs executive who spent over 30 years in corporate America\, most of it in Massachusetts. SUMMARY:Women’s Studies Then and Now: 1970s-2026
DESCRIPTION:From consciousness raising to the transformation of academia\, culture\, and society\, Women’s Studies grew from the bottom up to challenge male domination\, sexism\, homophobia\, racism\, economic inequality\, ageism\, and all the “ism’s” that created inequities and stifled equal opportunity. It promoted multiculturalism in its approach to the academic disciplines and inclusion and diversity in all social and political institutions. The global spread of Women’s Studies contributed to the rising leadership of women\, gay people. and people of color in politics\, academia\, business\, medicine\, law\, and more. Has it also led to the alarming\, powerful\, and violent backlash we are living through now? Let’s discuss. \nLearn more at 10 a.m. on Sunday\, September 20\, 2026. All are welcome. \n\nAt the Chapel in the Pines\, 220 Samoset Road in Eastham.  Doors open at 9:30.\nAlso on Zoom via this Zoom program link.
