The Beatles, a pop and rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960, consisted of John Lennon (rhythm guitar), Paul McCartney (bass guitar), George Harrison (lead guitar) and Ringo Starr (drums). They tried to produce a new sound with every song. Paul McCartney has written several long choral works.
